Throwback Thursday: Montreal and Quebec City, Canada, Fall 2010

This week’s Throwback Thursday goes back to before I even started this blog! Two friends and I took a road trip from Binghamton to Montreal and Quebec City in Canada during a week long break from university classes in the fall of 2010.

Our plans for the trip were to spend some time in Montreal and Quebec City, see the old parts of the cities and get a feel for the local culture. We stayed at a hostel in Montreal and met some interesting folks there from Germany, England, and Australia. However we mostly spent time on our own wandering the streets and taking in the sights. We went to McGill’s campus, a library, an art museum, explored a few neighborhoods, and ate at little restaurants.

After a few days in Montreal we drove to Quebec City where we stayed at a hotel (sweet relief!). We wandered through Old Quebec. I remember liking the feel of Quebec City, it felt much more European than Montreal. Unfortunately, rainy weather hampered our plans but we made the most of it.

I haven’t seen too much of Canada… I went on a week long canoeing/backpacking trip in Ontario’s Algonquin Provincial Park, but I’d like to go back and see Toronto! Hopefully within the next few years.
