I am taking an Entrepreneurship class at Binghamton University and the class revolves around a business plan competition. My idea for a new company, BScene, is now the basis for one of eight teams. Our mission is to host the best parties for upperclassmen at the area’s higher education institutions, graduate students, and young professionals. We will work with local businesses and organizations to make these parties happen.
We are submitting our business plan on Tuesday and hopefully will be competing at the business plan competition later this semester. My teammates and I are very excited about the company. We created a Facebook page two days ago and already have over 100 “likes”. We started talking to a few business owners in downtown Binghamton about hosting our first event, and are in touch with two different graduate student organizations in hopes of securing co-sponsorships.
I will keep this blog updated with the latest events and other things to note about the company development!
About: Binghamton’s premier party scene for young professionals.
Description: An event planning and promotion company that will create a lively and uniquely Binghamton social and networking scene. BScene events will be THE ultimate Binghamton party scene each weekend. By collaborating between bar and restaurant owners, local businesses, community organizations, art galleries and other organizations, BScene will create events worth talking about. BScene parties will be attended by a mix of Binghamton University students, community professionals, musicians, artists and movers-and-shakers. BScene will provide more nightlife options than a fraternity party or the typical bar scene.
Mission: To bring together upperclassmen, graduate students, young professionals, and business owners in the greater Binghamton area.
Products: Our parties provide networking opportunities for Binghamton students and young professionals in the community.
