La vida Cibaeña

After a fabulous day in Miami, I have arrived in Santiago! I spent Sunday in Miami Beach, wandering Lincoln Road and Orchard Drive, looking at the lovely ocean. I stayed with extended family who live out there and had a great evening catching up with them.

On Monday, I arrived in Santiago. The school staff picked me up from the airport and took me out to lunch and on a few errands. They brought me to my new house, which is beautiful. From the street, you can see el Monumento, a monument built in the 1940s, in the distance. I’ve been there before; at night you can see the entire city. I’m adding it to my to-do list this time around as well.

The past few days I have been relaxing, hanging out at the school, taking care of a few other things, and watching Netflix (which has a much better selection here). Until next week, when I am going to the capital for training, I don’t have too much to do.

Today one of my friends in the city is going to come over for lunch. Until then, I will be watching the Hobbit.
